I have exhibited nationally and internationally and have held two solo exhibitions, 2005 and 2008. The 2008 exhibition was an invitation to exhibit at Tairawhiti Museum, Gisborne where I was born. Professor Jack Richards purchased my Bowl of Wealth for the Museum’s public collection in 2008.

My work is informed by my life as a market garden girl growing up in a predominantly small Maori community on the outskirts of Gisborne – a place called Manutuke. I still have connections with the people who reside there.

In 2014, my vision was to bring Cast Glass to the Franklin region to introduce glass casting as an artists’ medium of expression and is held the first cast glass students’ exhibition in the Franklin region on 22 November 2014. The exhibition was held at Pollok Art Gallery in Pollok entitled “Glassy Glassics” and was an exciting time. I  actively promote glass casting for the region by introducing the community of Franklin about cast glass by offering workshops and discussing other glass artists and their work and their influences or inspirations. and connect people to the N Z Society of Artists In Glass Inc., to which I am a member.

I was secretary and Editor of Glass News in 2004-2006, and elected president from 2006-2008.

I work out of my home studio based on a small lake in rural Waiuku, South West Auckland on the sunset Coast.  My studio here is sufficient for me to continue my journey in the art of glass casting and I am currently learning other aspects of glass like fusing and pate de verre.   I am currently embarking on some new exciting works, of course, to do with food within my own family and reminders of years gone by to present day trends, while working on other techniques and new simple forms which relate to my buddhist practice.

Thank you for visiting my  site.
