MOVING STUDIO AND FINDING A NEW PLACE
In March 2018 I moved lock stock and barrel out of my studio on the shores of a small lake on the outskirts of rural South Auckland, New Zealand.
During a period of over five or so months, I had to pack the studio, which consisted of lots of boxes etc, moving my kiln Walter, bracing him inside for the move. It was a very emotional time after being there in my practice for so many years.
But I moved and now living in Auckland city and I had to find a new venue to run my committed Creative Community Workshops where I found Nathan Homestead with a small kiln and a sculpture studio. The first workshop held there was just this past weekend and you can see the results on my 800 Degrees Glass page on facebook.
Meantime, I am finding new ways of creating waxes again, and hoping in time to have cleaned out the garage where I'm residing so I have a place to work.
I have anticipated much of late and have decided to work in a normal job that I'm interested in doing to do with human relations and the rights of each person to be happy.
Though still a glass artist at heart, and sharing my knowledge on the basics of casting glass, I'm surrounded by heaps of positive people and students and I'll be taking a children's class at Nathan Homestead in September 2018, so watch this space.
